36. Miss Wardasked the Minister of Information whether he will arrange for the publication in book form of the citations for which Victoria Crosses have been awarded?
§ Mr. ThurtleThese heroic deeds receive wide publicity in the Press and on the radio, and I should not have thought that there was any big demand for them to be published in book form for sale at home. But I am having inquiries made and if these show that there is such a demand the Ministry will see what can be done about it.
Miss WardWill my hon. Friend bear in mind the possibility that the relatives would like to have a record of these citations on their bookshelves?
§ Mr. ThurtleCertainly, Sir.
Viscountess AstorWould it not be a good idea to have these citations in book form so that, after the war, they could be read out once a year to the school children?
§ Mr. ThurtleI can assure the Noble Lady that her suggestion will be borne in mind.
