HC Deb 26 January 1943 vol 386 c368
69. Mr. Douglas

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether he will arrange for a sufficient supply of rubber to be available for making rubber rings for closures used in bottling fruit?

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food (Mr. Mabane)

While my hon. Friend will appreciate the difficulty of giving a categorical reply to his Question, arrangements have been made for the allocation of crude rubber for this purpose on a scale which it is hoped will prove sufficient.
