HC Deb 24 February 1943 vol 387 c163
52. Mr. Douglas

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether arrangements can be made for a greater supply of fresh tuberculin-tested milk for infants and young children, in view of the fact that pasteurised milk is often three days old before it is consumed?

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food (Mr. Mabane)

As indicated in my reply on 17th February to the hon. and gallant Member for Ripon (Major York), my Noble Friend is at present considering whether means can be devised to encourage the future production and consumption of tuberculin-tested milk.

Mr. Purbrick

Is it not a fact that already about three-quarters of the tuberculin-tested milk is not sold as such but is lumped together with ordinary milk?

Mr. Mabane

Yes, Sir.
