HC Deb 18 February 1943 vol 386 cc1932-3
41. Mr. Wakefield

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware that a surface shelter is being erected on property in Avenue Road, N.W.8, which his Department has recently requisitioned and, in view of the fact that this property already has one of the best indoor shelters in London, and that within a few yards there is an underground shelter which has already satisfactorily survived a direct hit, he will stop this misuse of labour and materials in view of the urgent need for all man-power and materials to be used for offensive war effort?

Mr. E. Brown

I am making immediate inquiries into the matter and will communicate with by hon. Friend.
