HC Deb 18 February 1943 vol 386 c1936
47. Mr. Thorne

asked the Prime Minister whether he has any information as to whether the new Russian tank is an improvement on any of the tanks now in use either in North Africa or in any other theatre of war?

Mr. Attlee

Without more details of the tank my hon. Friend is referring to, it is difficult for me to make any useful comparison.

Mr. Gallacher

Is my right hon. Friend aware that one of the Russian generals who participated in the taking of Rostov, when interviewed by the Moscow correspondent of the "Daily Worker," paid a high tribute to British tanks and said that they would like a lot more, as they were not getting enough?

Mr. Attlee

I am obliged to my hon. Friend for that statement.
