§ 18. Mr. Hewlett
asked the Secretary of State for Air whether his attention has been called to the increasing loss of life among members of the Royal Air Force by road accidents; whether investigation 1713 is made in all such cases to ascertain whether these were preventable; and what is the total estimate of the casualties in all such accidents in the last six months for which figures are available?
§ Sir A. Sinclair
Over the last six months of 1942 the number of Royal Air Force personnel killed in road accidents at home and overseas was 96. This is, I am glad to say, less than the figure for the corresponding period of 1941. All such cases are investigated.
