HC Deb 10 February 1943 vol 386 c1315
50. Lieut.-Colonel Sir Thomas Moore

asked the Minister of Production what complaints he has received regarding shortage of steel in the shipyards; and what is the reason?

Mr. Lyttelton

There have been no serious complaints of any shortage of steel for shipbuilding during the last few months. One or two isolated instances have occurred in which repair work has been held up by delays in the delivery of plates. The interference with new construction has been negligible.
