HC Deb 03 February 1943 vol 386 c879
25. Mr. Broad

asked the Minister of Information whether his attention has been drawn to the dissatisfaction felt at the misleading statements published in the Press regarding the availability of foodstuffs; and whether he will take steps to ensure that information supplied to newspapers by the Ministry of Food and other Government Departments is reproduced with strict accuracy?

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Information (Mr. Thurtle)

No, Sir. I have not heard of any dissatisfaction. With regard to the second part of the Question, my hon. Friend will appreciate that the manner in which information coming from Government Departments is presented in the newspapers is a matter for the editors themselves.
