HC Deb 15 December 1943 vol 395 cc1543-4
49. Mr. Liddall

asked the Minister of Food why the small shopkeepers of Nottingham and district are being refused supplies of mineral waters, whereas the Nottingham Co-operative Society are receiving supplies?

The Minister of Food (Colonel Llewellin)

My Department has received no complaints of the kind to which my hon. Friend refers. If he will send me particulars, I will have them investigated. The Nottingham Co-operative Society is being treated exactly the same as other retailers in the area.

Mr. Liddall

Is my right hon. and gallant Friend not aware that the National Union of Small Shopkeepers would not have registered their strong protest on this matter if there had not been justification?

Colonel Llewellin

If my hon. Friend will let me know the particular case he has in mind, I shall be glad to have it investigated.
