70. Mr. Ralph Etherton

asked the Attorney-General whether he is aware that the number of divorce cases for hearing at assizes has now become so large that judges of the King's Bench Division have to give undue time to that work; and whether any steps are to be taken to appoint judges specifically to deal with divorce cases at assizes?

The Attorney-General

As I stated in reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Central Bradford (Mr. Leach) yesterday, the importance of this matter is fully realised and I hope to be able to make a statement shortly.
