§ 12. Mr. Bellengerasked the Secretary of State for Air what remuneration has been paid to the chief executive member of British Overseas Airways Corporation?
§ Sir A. SinclairThe chief executive member of the British Overseas Airways Corporation, who recently resigned, received no remuneration as a member of the Corporation. I am not in a position to say what his remuneration was as chief executive as this was a matter for the Corporation to determine in accordance with the provisions of the British Overseas Airways Act, 1939.
§ Mr. BellengerIs not the Minister entitled to know the salaries of the officers of British Overseas Airways Corporation and other information connected with it?
§ Sir A. SinclairNo, Sir. I have told the House before that management was to be left to the Corporation, and payment of the staff is essentially a matter for the management.
