HC Deb 14 April 1943 vol 388 c1190
15. Dr. Little

asked the Secretary of State for Air why volunteer girls from Northern Ireland are debarred from joining the Women's Auxiliary Air Force while girls from neutral Eire are being accepted; and whether he will take immediate steps to have this bar to their recruitment for the Women's Auxiliary Air Force removed?

Sir A. Sinclair

The restriction to which the hon. Member refers has recently been removed.

Mr. Logan

Am I to understand that there is an idea for Northern Ireland that you must not recruit at all from what is termed a neutral portion of Ireland?

Sir A. Sinclair

It is not my object, Sir.
