HC Deb 14 April 1943 vol 388 c1189
12. Mr. Bellenger

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether members of the Royal Air Force are compelled to submit themselves to routine medical examinations by female medical officers, and whether any such practice exists in the Royal Air Force?

Sir A. Sinclair

Royal Air Force personnel may be compelled to undergo routine medical examination which may be undertaken by a woman medical officer. In practice, male medical officers perform these duties save in very exceptional circumstances.
