HC Deb 14 April 1943 vol 388 c1215
57. Squadron-Leader Donner

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food whether his attention has been drawn to the irregular and inadequate supplies of fruit juices for children under five in Basingstoke; and whether he will take measures to improve a situation which is causing comment locally?

Mr. Mabane

Yes, Sir. Steps have been taken to meet the difficulties referred to, and I am assured that the position is now satisfactory.

Squadron-Leader Donner

Will the Minister consider sending additional supplies if I send him letters I have received from parents in Basingstoke complaining that supplies are unsatisfactory?

Mr. Mabane

No, Sir. We sent supplies sufficient to meet immediate requirements some time ago, and some more were sent yesterday.

Squadron-Leader Donner

Is the Minister aware that I received letters on the subject only yesterday?
