HC Deb 13 April 1943 vol 388 cc1062-3
Mr. Arthur Greenwood

(By Private Notice) asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether he has any information to give to the House about an invitation from the Dominion of Canada Branch of the Empire Parliamentary As- sociation for a British Parliamentary Delegation to go to Canada?

Mr. Attlee

The Canadian Branch of the Empire Parliamentary Association has invited a Parliamentary Delegation of eight members of the United Kingdom Branch to visit Canada at the end of May or early in June, in order to see the Canadian war effort and to exchange ideas with their Parliamentary colleagues in Ottawa. The delegates will be the guests of the Dominion Branch for three weeks. I am sure that the House will welcome this generous invitation, which will give Members of Parliament an opportunity to increase their knowledge of Canada. I attach the greatest importance to exchanges of views and personal contacts between Members of Parliament throughout the Empire.
