Many improvements, however, have recently been made and they will continue. I am sending my hon. and gallant Friend details of what is being done.
§ Sir T. MooreWould it not mean just removing the plates which are in front of the lights? That would not involve great labour.
§ Mr. Noel-BakerWe cannot increase the lighting during the black-out. That is the difficulty, but my hon. and gallant Friend will find that nearly every highway authority has in fact introduced for daylight hours either a half-face or full-face light.
§ Sir A. BeitIs it not a fact that such an improvement has not been introduced on roads such as the Great West Road and others where there is fast traffic, but only in the cities where there is slow traffic?
§ Mr. Noel-BakerI hope the improvement will be extended to the Great West Road.
