HC Deb 30 September 1942 vol 383 cc750-1
25. Mr. Simmonds

asked the Secretary of State for Air the number of officers and airmen of the Royal Air Force who have been murdered in India since the recent proscription of the Congress Party?

Sir A. Sinclair

I regret to say that in the casualty lists so far available for the period in question two R.A.F. officers are reported as having been murdered.

Mr. Simmonds

Can my right hon. Friend give the House an assurance that the dependants of these men will receive exactly the same treatment as the dependants of officers and men killed in action?

Sir A. Sinclair

Yes, Sir, I will consider that most carefully and sympathetically.
