HC Deb 29 September 1942 vol 383 c656
29. Mr. John Dugdale

asked the Secretary of State for War the reason for confining the appointment of Army chiropodists to the home establishment?

The Secretary of State for War (Sir J. Grigg)

In the early part of the war regimental foot orderlies were provided for field units and were thought adequate, especially in view of the increasing mechanisation of the Army. In view, however, of experience which suggests that more skilled treatment may be desirable, I am now considering the attachment of fully qualified chiropodists to field medical units.
