HC Deb 10 September 1942 vol 383 cc290-1
54. Mr. Orr-Ewing

asked the Minister of Agriculture why he has been unable to recommend the release of a particular agricultural worker, in a case of which he has been informed, to work on his aged aunt's farm in place of his brother who was accidentally killed whilst so employed?

The Minister of Agriculture (Mr. R. S. Hudson)

This is one of the borderline cases in which after careful consideration I am not of opinion that there are suffi- cient agricultural grounds to justify me in recommending the release of this soldier.
