§ The Secretary of State for India (Mr. Amery)I have nothing to add to the reply which I gave the hon. Member on 30th July regarding the general treatment given by the censorship in India to Press telegrams passed by the United Kingdom censors. The particular messages addressed to the United Press of India by their London correspondent on the 4th and other dates in July were stopped by the censors in India in full or in part for military reasons, as they would have had a detrimental effect on recruitment to the Indian Mercantile Marine.
