§ 36. Mr. Kirbyasked the First Lord of the Admiralty to whom the paper called 141 "Shipyard Spotlight," for which his Department is responsible, is circulated and how often; and how many copies are circulated and who bears the cost of publication and circulation?
Mr. Alexander"Shipyard Spotlight" is circulated to all shipbuilding and ship-repairing firms desiring it (at present 431). The total number of copies printed is at the present time about 10,000. An appropriate allocation, depending upon the number of employees, is made to each firm concerned. The paper is published once a month and is sold for 1d. a copy. The cost of printing is borne on the Vote of His Majesty's Stationery Office and proceeds are off-set against this expenditure.
§ Mr. KirbyHas the Minister received any representations from trade unions or other representatives of the workers to the effect that the paper is uninteresting and does no good?
Mr. AlexanderI have received no such representations but I should be happy to have any suggestions from those who think the paper can be improved in any way.
