HC Deb 09 September 1942 vol 383 cc153-4
62. Mr. Parker

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Food how many projects for the establishment of British Restaurants approved by his Ministry have been abandoned after representations from local restaurant and hotel interests?

Mr. Mabane

No proposals for the establishment of British Restaurants have been abandoned as a result of representations from caterers after they have been approved by my Department. In three cases, however, proposals have been withdrawn or approval withheld in consequence of such representations.
