HC Deb 07 October 1942 vol 383 c1207
41. Mr. Ivor Thomas

asked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that postal orders sent to serving men overseas have sometimes arrived after the six months period of validity; and whether he will extend the period of validity of such orders to 12 months?

Mr. W. S. Morrison

Arrangements have been in operation for some time whereby the period of validity of postal orders sent to members of His Majesty's Forces serving overseas has been extended to nine months. So far as I am aware, this extension has fully met requirements, but, if the hon. Member will furnish me with details of any case he has in mind where difficulty has been experienced, I shall be happy to look into the matter.
