HC Deb 26 November 1942 vol 385 cc875-6
58. Commander Sir Archibald Southby

asked the Minister of Health whether the Nurses' Salaries Committee, under the chairmanship of Lord Rushcliffe, has issued a Report; and, if not, when he anticipates such a Report will be available?

Miss Horsbrugh

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the reply given to the hon. Member for Rugby (Mr. W. Brown) on 10th November.

Sir A. Southby

Will the hon. Lady bear in mind that the nursing profession offers great services to the State and that this Report should be brought out as soon as possible? The matter is a very important one and cannot be left unsettled for an unduly long time.

Miss Horsbrugh

Yes, and I think that if my hon. and gallant Friend will look at the reply to which I have referred him, he will see that the chairman states that considerable work has been done and that he hopes to be able to report early next year.
