HC Deb 19 November 1942 vol 385 c508
75. Mrs. Beatrice Wright

asked the Minister of Health how many war nurseries are supplied with, or have access to, sun-lamps?

The Minister of Health Mr. Ernest Brown)

Facilities for artificial sunlight treatment are provided by many welfare authorities, in suitable premises and under the appropriate medical direction. Wartime nurseries would rarely be suitable places for establishing clinics for this treatment which, where it is provided, should not be confined to any particular group of children.

Mrs. Wright

While I accept what the Minister says, can he give us any idea how many war nurseries have the service of sun-lamps?

Mr. Brown

Not without inquiry in every case.
