§ Mr. E. BrownYes, Sir. My Noble Friend the Minister of Works and Planning, my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland, and I have conjointly appointed a Committee to investigate the subject interdepartmentally. The Committee have already met. The terms of reference of the Committee are:
to consider materials and methods of construction suitable for the building of houses and flats, having regard to efficiency, economy and speed of erection, and to make recommendations for post-war practice in the light of all relevant findings of the Study Committees coordinated by the Directorate of Post-war Building of the Ministry of Works and Planning.The Chairman of the Committee is Sir George Burt.
