asked the Minister of Labour whether he will inquire into the case of Trevor Herbert, 7, South Street, off Dodworth Road, Barnsley, 18½ years of age, a member of the Home Guard, willing to go on full military service when called, who failed to receive calling-up papers until these were brought by a police officer, was arrested and kept in the cells of the local police station for two days waiting a military escort; and will he take disciplinary action against those responsible for this injustice to the boy and his family?

Mr. Bevin

I am having inquiries made, and will communicate with my hon. Friend.
