HC Deb 18 November 1942 vol 385 c344
48. Mr. Salt

asked the Minister of Production whether, following the appointment of the three scientific advisers to his Ministry, he will ensure that, when new inventions are submitted to the scientific advisers of service and other departments, their conclusions shall be made available to some central co-ordinating body to ensure that any invention worthy of development will be taken up although it may not concern the immediate production needs of the department to which it was submitted?

The Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Production (Mr. Garro Jones)

My right hon. Friend has asked me to reply. My right hon. Friend is satisfied that adequate machinery already exists for the purpose which my hon. Friend has in mind. This provides for full exchanges of information between the Supply and Service Departments and ensures close day to day contact at all levels between officers of those Departments engaged on Scientific and Technical Research and Development.
