§ 64. Captain Gammans
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the total amount of payments made by the War Damage Commission for the first half of the current financial year?
§ Sir K. Wood
No, Sir. The War Damage Act, 1941, provides that statements of such payments shall be prepared in relation to each financial year, and laid before Parliament on or before 30th November next following the expiration of that year. It would be contrary to the public interest to publish periodically more up-to-date figures relating to shorter periods.
