HC Deb 17 November 1942 vol 385 c175
36. Sir Irving Albery

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that a discharged soldier, admitted to the Royal Hospital at Chelsea for investigation and observation resulting from a claim to a disability pension, is not granted any allowance in respect of the maintenance of any dependants whilst staying in hospital and consequently unemployed; and from what source the support of such a man's dependants should be obtained?

Sir J. Grigg

Payments have not hitherto been made from Army funds in respect of the maintenance of any dependants of claimants to disability pensions admitted to a military hospital for investigation and observation, but the matter is under review and I will communicate with my hon. Friend in due course.
