§ Sir A. DuncanAs regards the production of the type of warlike stores to which I understand the hon. Member refers, there were certain production difficulties which have since been largely overcome. Like a great many firms engaged on work of this nature, the firm were not fully equipped for immediate production and they were helped by my Ministry. The contracts for this store were placed with various firms on a planned basis, under the policy of dispersal. The firm had ample floor space for making this store, but additional accommodation has had to be provided for certain other work which the firm is doing. Representations have been received from the employees of the firm; these have been investigated and active steps taken to improve the position.
