§ 21. Mr. Tinkerasked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he can make a statement about the arrangements that have been made for the defence of naval aerodromes?
Mr. AlexanderI would refer the hon. Member to the statement made in this House on 8th January last by my right hon. Friend the then Lord Privy Seal, when, in the course of a general review of the war situation, he described in detail the arrangements made by the Royal Air Force for the defence of aerodromes under their control. Similar arrangements have been made for the defence of naval aerodromes, except that the defence garrisons will be formed by the Royal Marines instead of by the Royal Air Force Regiment. The Army will continue to provide the garrison until the Royal Marine Force takes over this responsibility.
