asked the Secretary of State for Air whether the George Medal is worn after the Distinguished Flying Cross, but before the Distinguished Flying Medal; and if a similar order of precedence obtains with respect to the Air Force Cross?

The George Medal is worn after the other awards mentioned in the hon. Member's Question.

Then there can be no substantiation of the claim that they are of equal merit?

They are certainly of equal merit.

How can they be when they are worn differently?
