HC Deb 20 May 1942 vol 380 c209
8. Flight-Lieutenant Boothby

asked the Secretary of State for Air how many officers in the administrative and special duties and the technical branches of the Royal Air Force are not at present receiving the pay of their acting rank?

Sir A. Sinclair

It has not been possible in the time available to obtain the information my hon. and gallant Friend requires, but as soon as I have received it from Commands at home and overseas I will communicate with him.

Flight-Lieutenant Boothby

Does the right hon. Gentleman think it a good idea in war-time to employ officers at bargain prices? Would not a better policy be to pay those who are doing their jobs efficiently and release those who are not?
