HC Deb 19 May 1942 vol 380 c10
21. Mr. Neil Maclean

asked the President of the Board of Trade the purpose and functions of the Central Committee of Export Groups; whether the purpose and functions are confined to England and Wales or whether Scotland is included within the scope of the inquiry; and, if so, how many Scotsmen engaged in the industries represented on the committee are included in the personnel of the committee?

Mr. Dalton

The terms of reference of the Central Committee of Export Groups are: To consider any matter relative to present and Post War Industry and Export Trade, and, in conjunction with the Business Members of the Industrial and Export Council, submit reports thereon from time to time as may appear to them desirable or as the President may specifically direct. One of the members is a Scotsman, and another is closely associated with Scottish industry; in addition three of the six business members are Scotsmen.
