§ 4. Mr. Ivor Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has any statement to make on the recent Governmental changes in Persia; and their effect on the Alliance with this country?
§ Mr. LawIt is not the practice of His Majesty's Government to comment on governmental changes in Allied countries, since these changes are a matter for the country concerned. At the same time, I have every reason to believe that the new 1967 Persian Government, like its predecessor, will collaborate fully with His Majesty's Government and the Soviet Government in carrying out the provisions of the Treaty of Alliance.
§ Mr. ThomasCan the Minister assure me that the fullest contact has been maintained with the Soviet Union?
