HC Deb 25 March 1942 vol 378 cc1975-6
17. Mr. Gallacher

asked the Minister of Aircraft Production whether he has considered the resolution from the employees at a certain factory, protesting against the ban on speakers, and demanding the right to be addressed by speakers of their own choosing; and is he prepared to reconsider this question?

Colonel Llewellin

The answer to the first part of the Question is "Yes, Sir"; the answer to the second part is "No, Sir."

Mr. Gallacher

Here again, will the Minister not consider the possibility of encouraging workers to show initiative, even in the organisation of discussions in the factories, rather than endeavouring to crib, cabin and confine the workers by a whole series of regulations; and, further, is the Minister aware that some of the speakers chosen have been Members of Parliament, of whom I was not one?
