HC Deb 17 March 1942 vol 378 c1332
69. Mr. Leach

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware that in the last three years the takings of the totalisators at the two dog-racing tracks in Bradford have increased by nearly 70 per cent., from £496,000 to £829,000; that the watch committee and city council are alarmed at this state of things which they regard as detrimental to the public interests; and whether he will take steps to deal with the matter?

The Under-Secretary of State for the Home Department (Mr. Peake)

As stated by my right hon. Friend on Thursday last, it has already been decided to impose still further restrictions on dog racing and to limit such racing to one day a week for each track.
