HC Deb 12 March 1942 vol 378 c1197
50. Mr. Craven-Ellis

asked the Minister of Agriculture of how much land the West Suffolk War Agricultural Executive Committee has taken possession under Defence Regulation 62 (2); how much of that land is farmed by the committee or under its management and how much of it has been let to tenants; and whether any account of the cost of farming the land of which the committee is retaining possession is being kept and will be published, or whether this information will be made available to the public in any other form?

Mr. Hudson

The area of which the West Suffolk War Agricultural Executive Committee has taken possession under Defence Regulation 51 (not Regulation 62) is 11,452 acres, of which 8,715 acres are farmed direct and 2,737 acres are let to tenants. Accounts of the cost of farming by executive committees are being kept and the question of publication will receive consideration at an appropriate time.
