asked the Secretary for Mines whether he can make a statement on the coal situation, especially with regard to production and manpower?

Mr. Grenfell

The whole situation is at present under review, and I hope to be able to make a statement at an early date.

Mr. Smith

May I take it from the reply that the recommendation of the Select Committee on National Expenditure will come under review as well?

Mr. Grenfell

I am not sure how the House will take it, but we shall certainly make reports.
