Mr. Bossomasked the Secretary of State for War whether he will arrange that, in towns and cities which have a technical school and a battalion of the Army training force, there shall be established a company or unit of the Army training force who will be preparing for future entrance to the Royal Army Ordnance Corps or to the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers?
§ Sir J. GriggI am not sure what my hon. Friend means by the Army training force, but I think he may be referring to the new system, by which men joining the Army will have six weeks' primary training in a General Service Corps, where their special aptitudes can be assessed, before they are posted to particular arms. Those whose subsequent special training requires technical instruction will have this either in training units or in technical schools, and in the latter case will be placed in training groups near the schools in question.
