HC Deb 25 June 1942 vol 380 c2125
Mrs. Tate

I beg to present a Petition signed by 40,000 inhabitants of Mersey-side showing that the civilian women of this country who face the same dangers and are liable to the same injuries from enemy action as civilian men, suffer great hardship by reason of the unequal rates of compensation for war injury payable to injured women civilians. The Petition concludes: Wherefore your Petitioners humbly pray that your honourable House will be pleased to grant them such relief as to your honourable House may seem fit.
