HC Deb 24 June 1942 vol 380 c1959
27. Mr. Lindsay

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty how many officers are now employed full time in organising the sea cadets; and what is the approximate cost involved?

Captain Pilkington

At the present time 14 officers are employed full time in organising the Sea Cadet Corps. Of these, four are attached to university and school units and are for temporary duties only; nine are regional and area officers for open units, and one is at headquarters. These 14 officers draw pay and allowances at the rate of approximately £9,000 a year.
