HC Deb 24 June 1942 vol 380 c1951
6. Wing-Commander Hulbert

asked the Secretary of State for Air whether Royal Air Force officers, compulsorily retired on the sole ground of age, receive 42 days' leave on full pay and allowances the same as Army officers?

Sir A. Sinclair

During the war, the employment of officers is not being terminated solely on grounds of age but only when they are unsuitable for further employment or when no further employment is available for them. The question whether there should be any increase in the amount of leave with full pay which is granted to officers whose employment is being terminated is at present under consideration.
