asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works and Buildings whether he is aware that second-hand tractors are now being sold at prices nearly double the cost of new tractors; and whether he will consider controlling the price of second-hand tractors?

Yes, Sir. My noble Friend, after consultation with my right hon. Friend the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, is proposing to make an Order under Regulation 55 of the Defence (General) Regulations, 1939, controlling the price of second-hand tractors and certain other classes of contractors' and agricultural plant.
