HC Deb 18 June 1942 vol 380 c1667
31. Sir John Mellor

asked the Minister of Health whether he is aware of the situation of many families, whom local laundries, owing to shortage of labour, are unable to accept as customers and whose soap ration is insufficient for washing clothes; and what steps is he taking to solve the difficulty in the interest of public health?

Mr. E. Brown

I would refer my hon. Friend to the Replies given by my right hon. Friend the Minister of Labour and National Service regarding laundry services on 10th April, 1941, of which I am sending him a copy. If he would care to send me information about any particular locality where there is marked difficulty I will look into it.
