asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport whether he will arrange for hinged seats to be fitted in corridors of railway coaches?

My hon. Friend will understand that it is necessary to maintain full freedom of movement through the corridors of trains. I am afraid that the provision of hinged seats might cause obstruction, but I am having inquiries made to see if anything can be done.
