§ Mr. AttleeYes, Sir. The number of civilian casualties in the British Empire from 3rd September, 1939, to 2nd September, 1941, was: Killed 43,675; injured and detained in hospital, 50,346. These figures do not include casualties at sea among merchant seamen or civilians.
