§ 24. Mr. Snaddenasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of War Transport whether he is aware that British refugees from Hong Kong and Rangoon who have reached this country from Australia are made to pay excess luggage fees on arrival at their homes in the United Kingdom; and will he take steps to abolish this injustice?
Sir A. SalterI presume that my hon. Friend refers to the charges raised for excess luggage on the railway journey from the port of arrival in this country. I am glad to say that arrangements have now been made to waive the charges in question for these persons.
