HC Deb 29 January 1942 vol 377 cc920-1
53. Mr. Woods

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he will consider increasing the poultry feeding-stuffs rations of the larger producers, having regard to the fact that this will result in more eggs flowing into the national pool to meet the ration?

Mr. Hudson

I regret that owing to the shortage of feeding-stuffs I cannot contemplate any increase in poultry rations.

Mr. Woods

Is it not possible for the Minister to utilise more of the waste which is collected, so as to increase the supply of feeding-stuffs without making increasing demands upon our shipping?

Mr. Hudson

It is being used for poultry or pigs.

Mr. Woods

Is the right hon. Gentleman satisfied that the fullest efforts are being made to see that all the waste is collected?

Mr. Hudson

Active steps have been taken for some time to urge and to help local authorities to set up plants to deal with all this waste and considerable progress is being made.
